Morning Musings
I'mma keep it all the way real with y'all ... it was approximately 11 o'clock yesterday evening (an hour past my self-imposed "log off, girl, because the creative juices aren't flowing" time) when I realized it was, in fact, a Tuesday, and that I had not sat down to write this week's newsletter.
I had a choice to make: to skip or to write. And, as you can tell, I decided to write, albeit an abbreviated version. Because normalcy is important during this oh so non-normal times.
You see, my friends, this isn't business as usual. We are dealing with unprecedented and, tbh, pretty scary times. So I don't have a full newsletter for you complete with the bells and whistles. I don't have top 10 WFH/productivity tips (although we if you want tips about WFH with your significant other and/or roomie, peep this Buzzfeed interview I did last week ... ya know, before we realized WFH together was indefinite).
The truth is, I am TIRED. A friend warned me IVF is like a job on top of a job (or, in my case, a job on top of a job and a side-hustle). To make matters worse, I'm in the second week of a two-week exercise ban and I'm so bloated/swollen I feel like a balloon that's ready to pop any minute now.
So my typical stress relievers (Peloton, yoga, dancing) are off the table for now. But also I'm on deadline, so I haven't had time to read and chill (though I did make time to binge-watch Love Is Blind over the weekend. Don't @me).
What I have been doing though is meditating every night (mostly to keep my perfect workout streak on Peloton going, but there are worse vices). A lot of praying (if you want to join me for "digital" services at Soul City this weekend, let me know!). And a lot of sleeping (when I can).
I'm not my normal, go-getter productive self and that's okay, just in case you need permission to do the same. I got you. You got me. We got each other. Until next week.
Love,
L'Oreal
