Morning Musings
Hey, y’all, welcome to the first issue of LT in the City Weekly, your mid-week dose of motivation, inspiration and so much more! I’m so happy you’re here. If we’re being honest, this newsletter was a labor of love ... and it almost didn't happen.
You see, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which means I obsess over every minute detail before releasing my work into the world. In fact, I must have written and re-written this newsletter about seven times. But, if I've learned anything in 2016, it's that progress is better than perfection ... and life is too short.
If we ... I mean, I ... wait for everything to be perfect, then often nothing ends up happening. Life just ends up passing us by. Quite simply, perfection impedes progress. So, here it is, my very first newsletter in all of its glorious imperfections. *crosses fingers, holds breath*
Let me know what you think on social (@LTintheCity everywhere) or simply reply to this email. Thanks in advance for your feedback and I'll "see" you next week!

Love,
L'Oreal
P.s. Shout-out to my homegirl Anuli for inspiring me to embark on this "exercise in consistency." Sign up for newsletter, #IntersectionWkly, here!

If you're anything like me, then you're a fan of five-year plans. But here's what happened when I finally said "buh-bye" to mine and "hello" to letting life unfold.

This Friday marks 17 years since my grandmother died of Alzheimer's. Here's what her battle taught me about living. And if you missed my Year in Review, you can catch it here (because there was more to 2016 than politics and celebrity deaths).

My Latest Obsession

My wonderful sister-in-law (aka one of the best gift-givers I know) gifted me this 2017 Ink + Volt Planner for Christmas and I spent the rest of the week filling in all of my hopes and goals for the New Year. I'd been searching high and low ... okay, reading every blogger roundup of planners ... for the perfect one to capture my personal and professional goals and this. is. it! If you're still looking for a planner, give this one a try.
