Morning Musings
Let me tell you about the time I meditated in the bathroom at work. Yes, you read that right. Yours truly meditated in a bathroom stall at my office. How did I get to this point?
Well, for one, my website has been down since Sunday because for some reason I neglected to renew my domain. {insert facepalm emoji here} Naturally, I tried to rectify the situation ASAP, but Wordpress wouldn't let me be great (seriously, who doesn't have a customer service number for people to speak to actual human beings?).
So I emailed and I tweeted...and I tweeted some more. And I refreshed my page every five minutes, all while attempting to do my actual job...you know, the one that pays most of my bills.

In short, I was overwhelmed. And after a series of rapid fire panicky texts, I received a call from the hubster, who always talks me off the ledge at times like this (honestly, I don't know what I would do without him). He advised me to walk away from the computer, get some fresh air. There's nothing I could do about the issue in the moment, so there was no need in obsessing over it, which is pretty much the worst thing you could say to a Type-A neurotic perfectionist like me.
So I walked into the bathroom, opened up my Insight Timer app and I meditated. In the middle stall. At work. And you know what? It may sound hokey, but I felt infinitely better afterward. I felt lighter, more relaxed.
The good news is that the site's been successfully restored, but needless to say I was freaking out.
Moral of the story? Shit happens. Life goes on. You can either roll with the punches or stay knocked down. Your choice.

On Tuesday, I was part of a panel for the Chicago chapter of the Black Public Relations Society about fast-tracking millennials in PR.

I also had the pleasure of being interviewed for the Butterflies of Wisdom podcast with Win Kelly Charles last week. You can check out the episode here. And I'll be hosting the #DreamDiggersChat tonight (Wednesday, March 1) at 9 p.m. ET. Follow along here.

My Latest Obsession

Y'all already know I'm all about #BlackGirlMagic, but I'm all the way here for #BlackBoyJoy. Although I haven't seen Moonlight (yet), that didn't stop me from exclaiming with joy when the FIRST movie with an ALL-BLACK cast won Best Picture. Talk about all the feels. For those of you who don't know, Moonlight is the story of a young Black gay man growing up in Miami. #RepresentationMatters
