Morning Musings
To strike or not to strike? That is the question I kept asking myself this week. Of course, if my office had made the decision to close on A Day Without a Woman, that would have saved me the agony. But, alas, they did not and here we are.
I've never considered myself much of a *political* person, but this last election changed all that. Let's be real, I have no intention of ever running for office, but what I can do is continue to use my platform to speak out and make a difference...however small it may be.
Often as we're preparing for bed after a long day, I tell my husband that "I just want to change the world...or at least, my little corner of it." And, after sharing this with one of my longtime friends/college roommates/bridesmaids, she told me I've already done just that through the stories I've written and the young women I've mentored. I was calling to wish her luck with her dissertation and instead, she was giving me the pep talk. When I tell you it brought a tear to my eye...
So I encourage you, wherever you are today--whether you're striking, wearing red in solidarity, or showing your support in some other awesome way--to keep doing what you do. Keep being your beautifully brilliant one-of-a-kind you. The world needs you. I need you. Now go forth and set the world on fire.
And remember...

Love,
L'Oreal
P.s. In case you're wondering, I opted to pseudo-strike and work from home. Huzzah!

In honor of International Women's Day, I'm sharing my favorite stories so far this week from/about a few bad-ass broads:
So if you've been following me on Twitter the last couple of weeks, you know that I am OB-SESSED with Tiffany Dufu, the author of Drop the Ball (think the opposite of Lean In). Tiffany is pretty much me in 10 years, so I'm trying to soak up ALL the wisdom. Recently, she told Cosmo (yes, that Cosmo) about how she made a career out of helping young women succeed. #Goals
I met social media influencer Jessica Zweig at a panel I moderated about, well, social media and on Tuesday she posted this fantabulous piece on LinkedIn about changing the narrative around our failures. {insert slow clap here}
And last but not least, if you've ever bled from the vagina, then you'll appreciate this Buzzfeed post.
My Latest Obsession

Admittedly, I’m a bit tardy to the podcast party, but I’ve been making up for lost time with the Support is Sexy podcast. I first told you about this career and personal development podcast last month when I had the pleasure of interviewing the founder, Elayne Fluker, for Her Agenda.
Since then, I’ve fallen head over heels for the daily podcast which is the embodiment of “women supporting women.” Between Elayne’s soothing voice and her spot-on life advice (not to mention the words of wisdom from her stellar guests), this podcast feeds my soul.
