Ask LT: What Should I Wear for My Headshots? 👚

Morning Musings
Remember back when I asked y'all to tell me how I can help you? I meant it! After asking my Facebook friends for input on my own headshots a month or so ago, I received a similar inquiry from a good friend. So I figured I'd share with the group. If, like me, you've ever wondered what to wear for your headshots, then this post is for you.
But what I didn't share is how I felt like canceling my shoot the day of because I was panicking something fierce. In my quest to get the *perfect* shot, I started to second guess everything: my hair (should have gotten extensions), my outfit (should have gone with a different dress), my makeup (do I look like me?).

But once I met up with the photographer and he took a few test shots, I felt at ease. I was so consumed with ensuring everything was picture-perfect (literally) that I'd almost forgotten to have fun in the process. And once I loosened up, the pictures reflected that.
Moral of the story? Be yourself and have fun. Trite, but true. If you try to emulate someone else's pictures, you're going to fail big time (check out my post for proof). Remember ...

Love,
L'Oreal

It’s been said that a woman should cut off all her hair at least once in her life, but the idea never really appealed to me. And then, a few friends of mine got pixie cuts and never looked back. I was never that bold…until now.

Read all about how my new pixie cut has helped embraced my inner badass in my latest for HelloGiggles.

My Latest Obsession

Like most things on the Interwebs, I stumbled upon the Stuff Mom Never Told You podcast on Twitter. I tuned into their "The Resistance Will Be Marketed" episode and I've been hooked ever since. Because I mostly subscribe to professional development podcasts, hosts Emilie Aries and Bridget Todd are a breath of fresh air. I love this "for millennials, by millennials" mindset and look forward to their latest take on women's lives, careers and activism.
