Why are millennial women so tired? 💁

Morning Musings
Ask me and any of my friends how we're doing lately and we'll tell you: tired.
My body is tired, my soul is tired, my mind is tired. I'm just all around tired. No matter how much sleep I get, no matter how much meditation I do, I always seem to be tired. HALP!!
Perhaps it's the result of an infinite to-do list: wake up; pray/meditate; journal; eat breakfast; check personal email; commute; read while commuting/listen to podcast; go to work; check work email; go to meetings; go to another meeting; go to more meetings; sometimes eat lunch; more meetings; actual work; meeting; meeting; gym or networking event; go home; make/eat dinner; open up laptop; check email again; write freelance stories; work on my side-hustle/build my brand; go to sleep; repeat.
It seems like nowadays life is a never-ending to-do list. In fact, I've been known to add things to my to-do list that I've already done just so I can feel better about myself for not doing more. I half joke with my coworkers that one day I'm going to pass out in a conference room.

But it's far from a laughing matter. And, quite frankly, I'm tired of being tired.
As a Black woman, I have to work twice as hard to get half as much and I'd better do it all and do it well with a smile lest all hell break loose. Can a girl catch a break?!
I can't speak for an entire generation, but I dare say we're tired of being overworked, overwhelmed, over-scrutinized and underpaid. We're tired ... no, we're exhausted ... yet we try to save the world every damn day because no one else is doing it. All the so-called "adults" are too busy pointing fingers at us for screwing up everything when the cards we've been dealt weren't exactly ideal.
So we bitch and we moan and we drown our sorrows in social media and wine and then we wake up again the next day ready to take on the world. Because that's what millennial women do.

P.s. If anyone needs me, I'll be in a dark room taking a nap!
P.p.s: Please get me out of "promotions" purgatory and add me to your "primary" inbox so I don't get lost in between Bed, Bath & Beyond coups and Groupon deals. Thanksss! xox

My Latest Obsession

This latest obsession is about two weeks overdue. I saw Girls Trip opening weekend with my husband and my sister and absolutely LOVED it! It was so refreshing to see accomplished BLACK women doing the damn thing on the big screen (for the record, I'm a Ryan -- Regina Hall's character-- but that's a whole other story). Upon walking out of the theater, I felt an overwhelming desire to book a girls' trip straight to EssenceFest, which is July 5-8, 2018 ... who's with me??
