What keeps you up at night? 😁

Morning Musings
Anyone else ever wake up in the middle of the night panicking about where you are in life? No? Just me? Okay then.
The other night I couldn't sleep and I believe tummy issues were only part of the problem. The other parts? Well, where should I start?
Will I ever be paid what I'm worth?
I wonder how much that hospital bill is going to be?
Should we continue renting or should we buy?
Where do we want to live anyway?
Am I contributing enough to my 403b?
Should I go back to journalism?
I wonder what Beyoncé is doing right now?

Oh, and I turn 30 in T-minus two months. Once upon a time, I looked at 30 as this magical number where everything would suddenly fall into place and I'd live happily ever. Now, two months out, I realize how much is still up in the air and I'm definitely feeling a bit unsettled about it.
I thought I was pass this whole quarter-life crisis business, but alas, the struggle is most definitely still very much real. And I'm not sure if it's because I'm a millennial, that I'm an overly ambitious Type-A people-pleasing perfectionist or all of the above. Probably the latter.
It's a mix of emotions that I don't feel qualified to deal with. It's like that meme of looking for an adultier adult because I'm for sure not cut out for this.
But, on the upside, I'm noticing that the closer I get to 30, the fewer fucks I have to give. #SorryNotSorry Moral of the story: none of us has it figured out completely. And anyone who says she does is a liar.
So, what's keeping you up at night? Feel free to hit reply or tweet me at @LTintheCity.

In my latest for HelloGiggles, I wrote about what it's like coming of age as a Black nerd aka "blerd." P.s. Where my blerds at??

Black Girl Confession: I was at a much needed happy hour last night and missed this year's Black Girls Rock on BET. As someone who's all about #BlackGirlMagic, I was super bummed. But I heard my girl Yara Shahidi delivered a powerful speech about Black girls owning our identity, so I thought I'd share it here. In the meantime, I'll be setting my DVR for the encore.
