Morning Musings
While mapping out the month in my favorite planner, I decided that my 30-day challenge for November would be practicing gratitude daily. And then, to my delight, my work wife gave me a gratitude journal for my birthday (thank you, Jessica!).
Even though I love the Five Minute Journal app on my phone, there's something about actually sitting down to list what I'm grateful for in writing. Those few minutes at the end of the day force me to reflect on the day gone by and point out the positives.
On a great day, it's super easy. On a long day, like today, when my to-do list seems endless, writing can require a bit more thought. But the truth is, I'm beyond blessed and have plenty to be grateful for on a daily basis: my health, my husband, my family, my friends, my career, shelter, etc.
But right now, at this moment, I'd like to thank you for welcoming me into your inboxes (and your hearts). For your messages of encouragement, for keeping me going when I sometimes feel like a poet at open mic night wondering "is this thing on?"
Thank you for subscribing, for reading, for sharing, for tweeting, for replying, for being my peeps. I appreciate you. I'm grateful for you.

Love,
L'Oreal
P.s. I'm having surgery on Friday to remove these icky uterine fibroids (finally!). I'll share more later, I promise. But in the meantime, I'm looking at a two- to four-week recovery and am currently accepting all book and Netflix recommendations. Please and thank you in advance.
ICYMI
You know how this section is titled ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)? Well, in an interesting turn of events, it appears as though I somehow missed my own feature on the Creative Women's Co. podcast (how embarrassing!). Check out my episode here, in which I talk about (what else?) my passion for empowering women.

My Latest Obsession

A few Saturdays ago, I spent more time than I care to admit trying to find my perfect nude lipstick (Fun fact: if you want to find your perfect shade, just check your nipples. Don't believe me? Click here). After 20 or so swatches, I fell in love with this deep chocolate hue, NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Done It Again. It's perfect for fall and the smudge-resistant, all-day wear makes it great for breezing through coffee meetings and lunch dates like a BOSS.Â
