My Top 10 Moments of 2017 💃

Morning Musings
Y'all, we finally made it to the end of 2017. I thought it couldn't get any more dumpster fire than 2016 (presidential election, anyone?), and this year managed to surprise me. But despite that WTF-ness of 2017, I had some pretty awesome highlights.
So, once again, inspired by my friend , I'm presenting my top 10 moments of 2017 (in no particular order).
1. I launched this here newsletter (YASSS!); redesigned my website (twice, but that's a whole other story); and finally took some professional headshots.
2. I participated in the Women's March in Chicago, attended the United State of Women Galvanize summit AND served on the planning committee for the Young Feminist Conference. The future is, indeed, female.

3. I was promoted to Director of External Affairs at work, like a BOSS!
4. I visited Paris with Jeff (très romantique)!

5. I celebrated my 30th birthday by myself in Sant Fe (more on that in the next section).
6. I had the time of my life during a much-needed girls' trip in Phoenix.
7. I fell in love with yoga and God again. #NamasteÂ
8. I taught a workshop at the largest tech incubator in Chicago; participated in two panels; AND I did THREE podcast interviews (listen here).Â
9. I advocated for myself and my health and FINALLY had these godforsaken fibroids removed.
10. I received the Girl Power award from Global Girls Inc., a performing arts nonprofit in Chicago.

And these were just the moments that came readily to mind during the journal prompt in my Ink+Volt planner. What were some of your highlights of 2017? Reply and let me know, or shout it out on social media.
Now, I hope you enjoy the last few days left of this year and I can't wait to see you in 2018 ... it's gonna be LIT!

If you're a longtime subscriber, you may recall that I decided to spend my 30th birthday by myself in Santa Fe. I recently wrote about the experience, which included more crying than I'd care to admit, in my latest for HelloGiggles.

I'm convinced that Rihanna doesn't want me to be great. I mean, she does, which is why she created the wonderfulness that is Fenty Beauty. But the way my budget is set up, I can't afford to keep up with her #MoneyMoves. So it's a good thing that her new matte lipstick collection, aptly named Mattemoiselle, is only $18 a pop. AND one of the shades is PMS, guaranteed to be my new fave, no matter the time of the month. Ooh na nah, what's my name?
