"We can't take any credit for our talents. It's how we use them that counts." —Mrs. Whatsit, A Wrinkle in Time
Morning Musings
First and foremost, a special welcome to all the new subscribers this week (there are a lot of you). Whether you found me through Ann Friedman, Girls' Night In or just a random search on the interwebs, I'm so glad you're here.
And to my true blues who've been kicking it with me for a minute, thank you. In the words of Jay Z, "You could have been anywhere in the world. But you're here with me, I appreciate that."

Now let's dig in, shall we?
Earlier this week I saw a tweet from Diddy (yes, that Diddy) that stopped me in my tracks: "If it ain't making me money, making me better, or making me happy, I ain't making time for it."
Now, when I tell you this tweet took me ALL the way out. As I've gotten older, I've realized how much of a commodity time really is and that it is NOT a renewable resource. And if you try to tell me I have as many hours in a day as Beyoncé, we are no longer friends.
Yes, we both have 24 hours in a day. But I do not have the luxury of having a personal assistant, personal chef and a personal trainer. (Actually, scratch that. As of last week, I finally have a personal trainer, but that's beside the point.)
I say all that to say this: my time is at a premium and I'm learning to be stingy with it because not everyone or everything deserves it.
And to be frank, I don't have the time nor the patience to deal with the bullshit. If it's not contributing to my pocket, my well-being, or my happiness, then I ain't got time for it. The end.

How are you investing your time? Are you spending it wisely?
Love,
L'Oreal

ICYMI
The first thing you notice when you see A Wrinkle In Time, besides the fabulous costumes, of course, are the out-of-this world hairstyles.

In my latest for HelloGiggles, I got to chat with creative genius behind the iconic looks aka celebrity hairstylist Kim Kimble, who counts Queen Bey among her clientele.

My Latest Obsession

In case you couldn't tell by this week's quote and ICYMI, I'm just a little bit obsessed with Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle In Time. Confession: I never read the book. But the entire time I was watching the movie, I was in awe that a Black woman made this -- that Ava saw in her mind and then brought to life this colorful, eccentric fantasy world. And that alone is enough for me.Â
