Morning Musings
I've long maintained that I have some of the best subscribers in the world. Seriously, your support and encouragement keep me going!
So when I was lamenting last week about #YogaSoWhite, y'all showed up and showed out. The recommendations were too good to keep to myself, so without further ado:

Black Girl in Om: Now, to be fair, I love me some BGIO and I'm a BIG fan of Lauren Ash's Self-Care Sundays ... I just wish they had more regular in-person offerings. Perhaps a BGIO studio is in the works? One can only hope!
R&B Yoga: I've gone to this a couple of times (Beyoncé-themed yoga on a rooftop during #SummertimeChi with all-you-can-eat brunch and bottomless mimosas, what's not to love?!), but I didn't know they had a fall edition, too. In fact, there's one coming up spotlighting Chicago artists on Nov. 21.
Trap Yoga: You had me at trap. Asia Nichole leads Yoga: Flow Slow every Wednesday at Healthy Hood Chicago. Best part? Every class is $5. Gotta love affordable fitness!
Eb & Flow: Located in Wicker Park, this mother and daughter-owned yoga studio features diverse classes for every level and special $10 community classes. I'll definitely be making a trip here!
Enhanced Body: Not only does Monica Bright teach at the Beverly Yoga Center, but she offers online classes for those who aren't in the Chicagoland area.
360.Mind.Body.Soul: The name says it all. Venture to this Black-owned fitness studio for a variety of group classes including, yes, yoga.
Hot Mess Yoga: Because sometimes you just want to get TURNT in downward dog. Catch these classes in Hyde Park. Nama-slay.
New Yoga State in Mind: When you can't get to class IRL, Asia Chantell's online videos will help you get into the zone.
These instructors/classes are local to Chicago, but if you have recommendations for where you live that you'd like to share, holla at me!
P.s. In unrelated news, I'm going to Charleston this weekend with my sister for our annual #SisterTrip/to celebrate my birthday! Where should we go? What should we do? What should we eat? Hit reply and let me know!
Love,

My Latest Obsession

I mean, truly, what else could it be this week? I've already written about , so I HAD to see the movie ... and it did not disappoint.
Yes, I may or may not have cried at least five times, but that's besides the point. The movie, like the book, excels because it's raw and relatable. And it's about damn time Black girls are heroines in Hollywood.
