"You should give yourself credit if you haven't landed where you want to be because the journey is just as important as the arrival." — Terry McMillan
Morning Musings
As Issa Rae so eloquently said on the Emmys red carpet years ago, "I'm rooting for everybody Black." And I'll take that one step further, I'm rooting for Black women and girls. So I was especially happy this past Sunday when my girl Beyoncé broke records to become the winningest performing artist in Grammy history with 28 of those little gold trophies (which could have happened much sooner if the Grammys weren't on that b.s.).
But that wasn't even my favorite part. Earlier in the broadcast, I tried not to cry as a clearly shell-shocked Megan Thee Stallion accepted the award for Best New Artist. Then later in the broadcast, Beyoncé seemed to have surprised Megan as the two accepted the award for Best Rap Performance for "Savage Remix" and made history in the process.
Anyone who follows Meg knows how much Bey means to her. So to see her standing side-by-side with her idol, who was just as proud of her, made my whole heart melt. Women supporting women, you love to see it.
Specifically Black women supporting Black women. There's truly nothing like it. No one will love up on you, support you, and hold you (figuratively and literally) like a Black woman. NOBODY.
I can't explain it in words, but you can see it in how Beyoncé and Megan stood next to each other that night. I love that for them. I love that for us. I love Black women.
Love,
L'Oreal

My Latest Obsession
Like many of you, I've been drinking a lot more coffee at home these days. And while husbae is into the fancy French presses and pour-over thingies, I prefer a much simpler way of life. Enter Copper Cow Coffee. You may have seen the Instagram ads and I'm here to tell you yes, they live up to the hype (the lavender one is my fave).
My friend Sierra, a coffee connoisseur of sorts, highly recommended them and I love the ease and ritual of tearing open the little packets and pouring in the hot water. Take $10 off your order and try them for yourself here.
