Morning Musings
Well, friends, the time has come. The deadline for my first book draft is quickly approaching so I need to hunker down and get to writing. What does that mean? I'm putting any non-book writing on pause while I crank this thing out.
No newsletters. No freelance writing. I will ~occasionally~ be on social media because I have too much FOMO to give that up completely, plus entertainment. But yea, ya girl's going into a bit of hiding. And honestly, I'm a little (read: a LOT) nervous.
I'm not saying those other stories aren't distractions (okay, they really are), but they're also within my comfort zone. I know how to freelance. I've been doing so since 2008. I know how to write this newsletter. I've been doing so since 2017.
What I do not know, dear reader, is how to write a book. I've never done it before. The whole process seems daunting and I feel wayyy out of my league. And yet, it needs to get done. Like literally. There's a whole contract behind this thing, folks. Jobs are on the line! Lest of which is mine.
So on that note, I'm going to put on my Big Girl Panties, as my friend and mentor Myla always tells me to do, and write. this. book. I'll see you in June! Prayers, positive thoughts and coffee donations are kindly accepted and greatly appreciated.
Love,
L'Oreal
