“It’s ok for others to go ahead of you. You are not behind. You in divine timing and flow. A slow process is just as sacred and filled with deep grace. True peace, blessings, and progress are accessed through honoring the unique, divine timing of your authentic soul path.” ~ Lalah Delia
Morning Musings
Finally, after three years of procrastinating, my podcast is LIVE! As I mentioned in the trailer, which you can listen to here, I decided to take my own advice and “stop waiting for perfect.”
I first downloaded the Anchor app to record podcasts back in January 2020. Since then, I’ve downloaded numerous audiobooks and podcasts to learn how to make a podcast. I took an online course and I even completed a fellowship back in 2021 (thank you, Amelia), and produced my very own episode of the Fifty Feminist States podcast. I even bought my own legit podcast mic for crying out loud.
And then I waited. I stalled. I came up with every excuse in the book: We’re about to move. We’re about to have a baby. I have to finish writing this book. We’re about to move again. I’m starting a full-time job. Did I mention I have to finish writing this book? And so forth and so on.
I even dragged my feet on recording the intro and outro once I hired Amelia to edit my interviews (because ain’t nobody got time for that…did you see the aforementioned excuses?).
The truth is, I’ve been big scared. What if it’s not good enough? What if it’s not perfect? I’m a storyteller, yes, but the written word is my chosen medium. That’s my comfort zone. It’s not that I don’t like public speaking—I’m a frequent podcast guest, moderator and workshop facilitator. But something about being behind the mic for my own show scared the beejeebies out of me. So I listened to the subtitle of my book: step out of your comfort zone and into your power.
I’ve waited a long time for permission. For someone to see me and tap me on the shoulder for opportunities. But now I’m all about creating my own opportunities and fully stepping into my power.
I have a dream of building a multimedia empire—first with my blog, which I’m planning to relaunch this year; this newsletter; my book; and now, this podcast.
As I wrote in the book, you can edit bad, but you can’t edit nothing. I can improve the podcast, but only after I actually hit record and send it out into the world. So that’s what I’m doing here and I hope you’ll join me on this ride!

“The world does not move without Black creativity” is a sentiment Melissa Kimble knows well because…she wrote it! The founder of #blkcreatives, a support network for Black creatives, recently launched Hey, MK (Hey, More Kindness), a digital monthly mini-magazine and I am all the way here for it. “This mini magazine is part expression, part experiment, and part creative epiphany,” says Melissa. “My focus is to share more kindness and care to Black women in a way that is personal and intentional.” Get into it!

Preorder Stop Waiting for Perfect
My first book, Stop Waiting for Perfect, drops this summer! This book will force you to stop playing small and encourage you to fully step into your power and walk in your purpose. It will awaken the dreams you buried deep within your soul long ago because you thought they were impossible, unattainable—available to other people, but not you. Until now.
Thank You

I know we don't actually know each other in real life, but I am so proud of you girl! I know that taking the first step with anything is scary but the fact that you did it speaks volumes about what a badass queen that you are! You are so inspiring to women everywhere. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see what you do next! Sending lots of love and well wishes your way!
Yay first podcast! It was great! Also team Angel Reese all day. And finally, that article about not living closer to our friends but we should... resonated SO deeply.
