Loved that essay about solo-employment and burning out. Good for the for hoping to a more comfortable lily pad. I'm approaching my 10-year mark and also feel like i just want a boring job
Got a low-stakes retail job about 5 weeks ago. I'm realizing that I'm not burnt out. I have a lot of creative energy to give to the right team. Currently cold pitching for w-2 work. Can't wait for formal job posts.
Trying to be there for my community by embracing being the house that all the neighborhood kids seem to flock to after school, lol. In general, I try to give support when I can, not expecting anything else in return except the right to lean into the community when I need support too.
Wellness... A newer approach in recent years to going to the gym has been allowing myself to let go of rigid schedules in favor of a more opportunistic approach. That way when a sizeable enough gap opens in my day ... On any given day, I can prioritize using it for self care (the gym in this case). I also set a goal last year to get a monthly massage. Something I'm proud to say I actually did... Just for me. To destress, work out those knots, manage aches and pains of getting older but still trying to keep up with kids, dog, yardwork, and housework. Uninterrupted uiet time just for me. I go to a local place (they give better massage imo and more frills tend to be included. My personal fav are hot stones). I have kept this up so far this year and it has become a highlight of the month for me!
Now that the weather is turning, tinkering on my garden is becoming more frequent. Garlic, bulb onions, lettuce, sweet peas, beets are all in for the early season. 💪🏾🙌🏾🥳
I always love hearing abut your garden and #goals on being the cool neighborhood house! And also VERY proud of you for committing to the monthly massages, that's no small feat!!!
