I can relate to this on SO many levels. I have forever been the late friend... now add in a toddler to the mix, PHEW. "Take your time" friends always help me catch my breath.
I thought of you and this sentiment today when I had someone do…basically the opposite of encourage me to “take my time.” It was a good reminder that we get to choose who we surround ourselves with and I’m choosing more “take your time” friends! 💚
that would be a great little sign to hang over your desk! Or anywhere. Maybe not the shower (although sometimes I do take my time there too, don't tell anyone.)
yes yes yes - such a gift to be able to tell someone else "take your time" "when the time is right" "there is no rush" - I spent far too much of my life NOT doing things b/c I was afraid I "wouldn't have enough time" and to now BE WHERE I AM so much more of the time is a gift I give myself - even if someone else is annoyed with me b/c I didn't do the thing fast enough for their liking (their business not mine).
There is simply too much going on in life to get upset about something or at someone experiencing something out of their control.
Just this AM, one of my direct reports texted me about her mom having to go to the hospital... And then proceeded to tell me about all the work things she'd get to when she got back. Um... Excuse me, take care of YOUR MOM. Work can wait. The end.
